Total Maximum Daily Load Reports

The Clearwater River Watershed District recognized early on the need to complete on the Total Maximum Daily Load (or TMDL) process for the principal waters of the District. The District completed the TMDL process and had its TMDL Implementation Plan approved by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) on May 19th, 2010. The TMDL Implementation Plan guides the District and corresponding agencies in remediation of the impaired waters. This plan is an important component of the District's Watershed Management Plan. Below are two sets of links. The first set goes to the MPCA's site where you can learn more about each of the three TMDL Projects the District undertook, as well as the District's TMDL Implementation Plan. The second set is for the District's TMDL Implementation Status Reports and a link to the TMDL Implementation Project Page.

Clearwater River (UM Basin) - CD #44 to Lake Betsy Bacteria and Lake Nutrients (Clear, Louisa, Scott, Betsy, Union and Marie Lakes)
