Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) Education and Outreach
AIS is a growing problem in many lakes, rivers, and streams throughout the US. Within the CRWD, common AIS issues come from Invasive Carp, Curly Leaf Pondweed, Eurasian Water Milfoil, and Zebra Mussels. Newer threats from Starry Stonewort have begun to affect lakes in our area as well.
In an effort to provide education and outreach to residents, the CRWD hosts AIS Forums. Local government agencies share their programs to assist lake associations in managing AIS and speakers are invited to put the spotlight on certain AIS threats that are of local concern.
