The Ostmark Basin was constructed in "____" to correct an developing erosion problem in conjunction with Meeker County Soil and Water Conservation District. Before the basin was installed, runoff was causing a gully to form along 360th Street (Meeker County), and the sediment from this gully was being deposited in Clear Lake. The basin slows the runoff, effectively stopping the creation of the gully, and keeping sediment from entering Clear Lake.
