The Clearwater River Watershed District is governed by a five-member Board of Managers. Each manager must be a resident of the District and may not be a county, state, or federal government public officer, except for a Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) supervisor. Two managers are appointed by the Wright County Board of Commissioners, two by the Stearns County Board of Commissioners, and one by the Meeker County Board of Commissioners (the largest portions of the District lie in Wright and Stearns counties). All managers serve three-year terms on a staggered basis. The power and duties of watershed districts and their boards are set forth in Minnesota Statutes 103D.
The District Manager role is to oversee the business of the District. By working together, the Board of Managers help direct the activities of the District. They set policy, make/change rules and regulations, guide staff, and issue key decisions on the District's priorities. The CRWD Board of Managers regularly meets the third Wednesday of the month at CRWD Offices in Annandale, MN (Map) at 6:00pm. Special and emergency meetings may be called and will be properly noticed per MN Statutes. Meetings are open to the public. Click here to find meeting notices and minutes. |
