Work Session - Kimball City Hall
March 24, 2010 - 7:00pm
Kimball, Minnesota
Manager Brunsell called the CRWD Work Session to order at
7:00pm. Manager’s Brunsell, Kampa, Risberg, Froyen, and Schiefelbein were
present. Also in attendance were Kimball Mayor Tammy Konz, Tom Bacon, Assistant
Administrator Loewen, and Administrator Anderson.
Motion #WS10-03-1:
Motion Risberg, seconded by Schiefelbein to adopt the Agenda. All Managers
voted aye.
Manager Brunsell led discussion indicating that grant funds
are available only for the use of a non-selective herbicide (Renovate) for
control of Eurasian Milfoil. Tom Bacon indicated that is would prefer to have
grant funding available for the use of Navigate, a selective herbicide for use
and control of Eurasian Milfoil.
Motion #WS-10-03-2:
Motion Froyen, seconded by Kampa to authorize Manager Kampa and Tom Bacon to
contact legislators encouraging a change in grant fund availability for the use
of Navigate herbicide for control of Eurasian Milfoil. All Managers voted aye.
Tom Bacon left the meeting at 7:10pm.
Kimball Mayor Konz and Assistant Administrator Loewen
reported that they, along with Minnesota Pollution Control Agency staff and CRWD
staff took a walking tour of Kimball to determine stormwater management
solutions for the city.
The CRWD work schedule for the April 17, 2010 Annandale Expo
is as follows:
7:30am-10am: Schiefelbein and Loewen
10:00am-12:00noon: Kampa and Brunsell
12:00noon-closing: Risberg and Froyen
Motion #WS-10-03-3:
Motion Risberg, seconded by Schiefelbein to development of an easement with Cory
Meierhofer for the purpose of installing a v-notch weir on his property. All
Managers voted aye.
Motion #WS-10-03-4:
Motion Schiefelbein, seconded by Risberg to pay bills. All Managers voted aye.
Administrator Anderson informed the managers that the
Minnesota Conservation Corps has been funded for 2010 to work near impaired
waters.
The CRWD Encumbered Funds List was reviewed.
Mayor Konz left the meeting at 7:52pm.
Administrator Anderson was instructed by the CRWD Board to
develop a fact sheet indicating the results of all projects that involved state
funding for legislators.
Manager Kampa is tracking bog movement status on Lake
Augusta, Clearwater Lake, and Grass Lake.
Motion #WS-10-03-5:
Motion Schiefelbein, seconded by Froyen to adjourn the meeting. All Managers
voted aye.
